Matching half helices

One half of a double helix. The strand proceeds from from top to bottom in the 5' to 3' direction. The nucleotides on the left are (top to bottom) 5'-cyt-gua-ade-3'; on the right (BOTTOM to TOP) are 5'-thy-cyt-gua-3' As in your secret handshake, there would be very limited flexibility here within bases. Blue denotes an exposed atom with somewhat positive charge; red somewhat negative. In the future, charges will be shown as translucent halos. If you turn on 'show atom colors' the phosphates of the backbone are orange.
